Most people think very little about the design of their garden, which is unsurprising as garden design has not changed much since the  cottage style became popular in the late 1800's.

Some of the considerations in garden design are:

be appropriate for the client's situation and use

take into account the requirements of all its users

not require maintenance every weekend

complement your house

say something about you

be visually stimulating and exciting

be treated as an outside living space, and approached with no less attention to style and detail than you would exercise inside your home.
